About Me

Khanden MacMullin, RCT-C
Registered Counselling Therapist, Candidate
I have known ever since I was younger that I wanted to help others in some way, but it wasn't until I was introduced to Psychology and therapy that my passion behind how I support people as a Counselling Therapist was sparked.
For me, counselling is the perfect marriage between a science and an art that, when together, has the ability to really change our experience of life in amazing ways; that can enrich our lives, bolster our sense of self, and deepen our connections with others.
My Approach
I prioritize a sense of individualized care by co-creating a shared space based on understanding to allow for therapy to be a collaborative process in attaining your wellness goals. As a therapist and support, I focus on understanding you and your lived experiences, while drawing on affective neuroscience and attachment theory, in order to help contextualize the difficulties you experience, and to explore how to navigate those difficulties together in ways that would lead to a fuller and more fulfilling life.
I have had training in various psychotherapy approaches and draws mostly from forms of evidence-based psychodynamic therapies, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) & Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), to consider and involve the complexities of being human to address the diverse set struggles we can often experience.
After graduating from Saint Mary's University, I went on to complete my Master's degree in counselling from Acadia University and is a Registered Counselling Therapist, Candidate, with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists. Since then, I have come to gather a wealth of experience in supporting those struggling with a range of mental and emotional difficulties, from anxiety, depression, relationship problems, abuse, and in cases of medically unexplained symptoms.
